Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
Your privacy matters to us. In short: we collect only what we need to run the directory and answer you, we don’t sell your data, and your precise location never leaves your device.
1. Who we are
Jamming.Studio (“we”, “us”) is an online directory that helps musicians find jamming and recording studios, music stores, luthiers, gigs and music events. This policy explains what personal data we collect through jamming.studio, why, and the choices you have. You can reach us at hello@jamming.studio.
2. What we collect
Information you give us. When you use our Contact, Partnership or Post a gig forms we collect what you enter: your name, email address, and optionally your phone or WhatsApp number, company or brand, budget range and message. For gig posts we also collect the gig details and the contact details you choose to publish with it.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and when. We use your approximate country and city, worked out from your IP address by our hosting provider, to show you the right country and a nearby city first. We do not store this approximate location.
Your precise location (only if you ask for it). When you tap the “Nearby” button, your browser asks for permission to share your location. If you allow it, your location is used in your browser to sort listings by distance. It is kept only for that browser tab and is not sent to or stored on our servers.
Business listings. Our directory lists businesses (studios, stores, luthiers) and events. This information is compiled from publicly available sources, such as businesses’ own public listings, websites and social media, and from information businesses send us. It may include business contact details such as a phone number or email address.
3. How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry, and to review and publish gigs you submit.
- To discuss listings, partnerships or advertising you asked us about.
- To run, secure and improve the website, including preventing spam and abuse.
- To remember your preferences, such as your country, city and list or map view.
- To comply with the law and respond to lawful requests.
6. International transfers
Our service providers may store or process data on servers outside your country, including outside Malaysia and Singapore. Where that happens we rely on providers that apply appropriate safeguards to protect it.
7. How long we keep it
We keep form submissions for as long as we need them to handle your request and our follow-up, and generally no longer than 24 months, unless the law requires longer. Gig posts stay until they expire or you ask us to remove them. Hosting logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short period for security and troubleshooting.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 and Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012, you can ask us to:
- give you access to the personal data we hold about you;
- correct data that is inaccurate or out of date;
- delete your data, or stop using it for a particular purpose;
- withdraw consent you gave earlier.
Email hello@jamming.studio. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we’ll reply within 30 days.
9. For listed businesses
If your business is listed and you want to correct details, add photos or be removed, use the contact form or the “Report incorrect info” link on your listing. We act on verified requests promptly.
10. Security
We protect data with encryption in transit (HTTPS), database access rules, spam protection and limited access to submitted data. No system is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe and will act promptly if something goes wrong.
11. Children
Jamming.Studio is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we’ll delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll change the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, make it clear on the site.
